Britain has a vibrant music scene, and there's always something going on somewhere; you just have to know where to look. To make that search easier on you, I've put together a calendar of some of the big events going on this year.

I hope this helps, and who knows, maybe I'll see you at one of them!

Hard Rock Calling 2011
This music festival is a three-day event in London's Hyde Park. The line-up is mostly still to be confirmed, but I know Bon Jovi will be headlining on Saturday this year. There's guaranteed to be some other big-name acts from the world of rock, and hopefully some British bands will be on the bill.

Bestival 2011
This festival has only been running since 2004, but it's already become one of the most popular and highly rated music events in the country. It has a more alternative vibe than its 'neighbour', the Isle of Wight Festival, and last year it was voted best major festival at the UK Festival Awards.

GuilFest 2011
This festival in Guildford is very different to the others on the list, but just as exciting. Its focus is on folk and blues music, though it features various musical genres. I particularly liked the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and I'm not surprised it's been ranked as the UK's best family festival in the past.
